All electric about the virgin
Peeling apples above your head
We're dead
We're dead
We're dead
We're dead
We're
dead

Frozen pools and an alley cat
Running rats and acrobats
Spinal tap down my back
These are the things I will never forget.
A mildew confession from a dying old man
He killed three men, and raped a handful of women
Hoping for repentance from a worse-than-life sentence
He's going to die alone and forgotten.

Juicing juicing
the milk from the root
stomping out anger
with my fist.
Forgetting, forgetting
the promises unkept
burning all of
my lists

Spiders want to destroy us all.
They're planning, spinning webs and ideas,
they're sucking blood from insects but they can't wait
till the figure out how to spin death webs big enough
to catch us and wrap us and eat us for lunch.
I can hear their tongueless whispers as I
fall asleep at night.
They remember every one of their friends
killed by human hand,
chanting their names in unison and sounding alarms.

the sky kissed the earth and said
"dearest I must leave."
so she flew up and blanketed the space
and took with her the clouds and the stars and the sun.
and the earth was lonely, so lonely with out his friends
so he planted seeds in his skin and grew humans
who cared for him until they forgot
how to listen to his voice and
used his gifts against him.

she eats butterflies
and grows wings from her
shoulder blades
and flies into the
city where they
lock her up in a cage.
so she eats the key and
becomes a shape shifter and
oozes through the bars keeping her back.
flying to the fields of ice
she is safe.

She gave me all these butterflies
In a little box of blue
All dead and torn, she opened me up
And placed them in my stomach.

I searched for a poem
In your eyes
But they were filled to the brim
With the hurtful words you said.
And that is the only thing left of you
Words and woes
I wish I could forget what
I shouldn't have to remember in the first place.

My notebook like a friend
Always there to listen
Always there to watch
Understanding
Sometimes I forget why I'm even here.
Just, why I do the things I do,
I forget the point.
Is there a point?
When I die
None of this will have meant anything.

I had a friend
Who called me that
A very
Long
Time
Ago.
She's passed
But there's a
Stranger
Who comes when
My friend is called
Roams in
Her skin
Speaks through
Her teeth
Though I hear
Through the lies
Spewed
That is not
The voice
I knew
